Ronnie Baker Brooks has assembled an all-star cast for this, his first album in 10 years, since 2006’s The Torch. For starters, there’s Steve Cropper and Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland, not to mention the Hi Records rhythm section, comprising brothers Teenie, Charles and Leroy Hodges, who have provided house band duties for the likes of soul legends Al Green and Ann Peebles. Ronnie’s father, the 82-year-old Lonnie Brooks, even pops by to lend his services to Twine Time.
