The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival 25 to 27 August
Guitar fans are spoilt for choice this summer when it comes to festival options, but this weekender’s approach is different from the usual one-ticket affair – it allows blues fans to pick and choose. Over the three days at 12 venues, more than 100 acts will play, but tickets can be purchased for events individually, with three-act line-ups including Joanne Shaw Taylor, The Steve Nimmo Trio and The Revelator Band; King King, John Fairhurst and Gwyn Ashton; Aynsley Lister (pictured), Rob Tognoni and TJ & The Suitcase; and Lucky Peterson, Clay Shelburn and Michael Messer’s Mitra.
In addition, there will be showcases of unsigned talent, and a dedicated acoustic blues stage on the Saturday and Sunday, to make this a blues weekend experience you can tailor for yourself. www.bluesfestival.co.uk
