The Rolling Stones Blue & Lonesome

-

The Stones returned to their blues roots for this album, and in doing so, divided critics and fans alike. Some loved it, others found it to be the epitome of megastar self-indulgence. We thought it was really rather good… The thing that stood out for us was the sheer joy that was present throughout, the whole band clearly revelling in material like Little Walter’s Just Your

Fool and Howlin’Wolf’s Commit A Crime. Clapton guested on two tracks, adding to the bluesenriched atmosphere. A departure for The Stones, perhaps, but a welcome addition to the band’s rich history.
