Pink Floyd’s percussionist revisits solo releases Floyd fans were recently enthralled by the idea of another original member getting out on the road to play the band’s music in the guise of Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets. As an accompaniment, Nick’s three solo albums are being made available for the first time in 20 years. Fictitious Sports (1981) features a collaboration between Mason, Carla Bley and Robert Wyatt in a strangely endearing melange of left field pop. The more mainstream Profiles (1985) sees Gilmour providing some guitar along with Rick Fenn and White Of The Eye (1987) – very rock- and very guitar-based – is essentially a film soundtrack to the thriller of the same name. Floyd completists will rejoice. [DM] Standout track: Mumbo Jumbo For fans of: Pink Floyd, 10cc
