CHAIRMAN OF THE ’BOARD?
I was checking out the Fender 60s Baja Telecaster a while ago with a view to getting one in my collection. I have the 50s version and love the S-1 switching. The 60s model looks the absolute business and every review I’ve read has been glowing. However, I had another look recently and see that Fender has switched the original 60s Baja’s rosewood fingerboard for one that’s made from something called pau ferro.
How does it compare to rosewood? If it’s substandard I may look for a used rosewood model. What’s your take on this? James West, via email
