Looking back, over their shoulder… Starting out as a side project for Genesis bassist and guitarist Mike Rutherford, Mike + The Mechanics rapidly became a force to be reckoned with in the world of pristine pop. It’s 30 years since their memorable – and weepy – single The Living Years and album of the same name were released and, to commemorate this fact, the album is being made available once again in various formats, including the double-vinyl, twin-CD and 40-page book format we have in front of us.
