Not all of the guitars in the Seven Decades collection are intended for use as part of the show – like all guitarists, sometimes Phillip Hylander and Michael Ross come across an instrument they just can’t pass up, even if it isn’t a vintage guitar. This Masterbuilt Paisley Telecaster, for example, was made by one of the best-known of the current Fender Custom Shop Master Builders, John Cruz. While Phil and Mike won’t exhibit or perform with reissues – even ones of this quality – Michael Ross says if the show ever touches on James Burton’s time in Elvis Presley’s ‘Taking Care of Business’ band they might make an exception for this paragon of Paisley…
