ROTOSOUND

ULtramag strings £tBC

-

The market for highperformance premium strings has bloomed in recent years and now the celebrated British maker Rotosound has come up with its own contender. Rotosound hasn’t released the Ultramags yet, as they’re due to launch at NAMM in late January, but the company has leaked some details of the new range. To set them apart from some of the other recent high-end strings we’ve seen, such as Ernie Ball’s Paradigm range and D’Addario’s NYXL, Rotosound has turned to the highly magnetic Type 52 alloy of 52 per cent nickel and 48 per cent iron. This, Rotosound claims, gives accentuated mids and low-end, plus excellent corrosion-resistant properties. Although official prices haven’t been announced, expect the Ultramags to come in around £15 per set, putting them on a par with their premium peers. Will they offer something special? We look forward to giving them a whirl at the NAMM show in Anaheim. www.rotosound.com
