Steve Hackett
At The Edge Of Light
Prog opus from one of the genre’s original architects Steve Hackett has discovered a new lease of prog life in recent years, in no small way thanks to his Genesis Revisited project, dedicated to that band’s earlier, mainly Peter Gabriel-infused work. Bolstered by the venue-filling appeal of the aforementioned, his solo work has flourished. Following on from 2017’s The Night Siren, At The Edge Of
Light once again stakes its claim in the heartland of melodic progressive rock. It’s classic stuff that’s embellished with orchestra and choirs, plus ethnic instrumentation including the tar and duduk, which couch Steve’s soaring guitar lines perfectly. The album is available in more formats than you could shake a stick at, including DVD and Blu-ray 5.1 mixes, and represents a majestic foretaste of this year’s late autumn tour, which kicks off on 2 November in Aylesbury.
