RORY GALLAGHER

AGAINST THE GRAIN

-

Rory Gallagher must be one of the most difficult players to explain or emulate. Undoubtedly inspired by the blues, Rory took it to so many other places. His solos/melodic lines on tracks such as Ain’t Too Good, Lost At Sea and At The Bottom all expand on the pentatonic, in some cases completely departing from what many would call a blues approach at all. Definitely lots of food for thought when you check out the chord structures, too.
