Standard delays generate regular repeats that are all the same time interval apart. Multi-tap delays, by contrast, let you add extra ‘taps’, yielding powerful rhythmic, atmospheric effects as echoes propagating at different rates cascade into one another. The UltraTap is based on the idea of a multi-head tape echo, except one that features up to 64 virtual heads. Sonically, this grants you “a comprehensive resource for creating a variety of rhythmic delays, atmospheric ambiences, swells and modulations”.
