There’s no shortage of options and styles within Paoletti’s expansive range

-

The guitars made by Paoletti are grouped into four main series. The Wine Series shows off the chestnut body wood and roasted maple necks in a natural finish. Adding to the reclaimed body wood, it was probably the Leather Series guitars that got Paoletti noticed; here, a textured leather was applied to the top and trimmed with rivets.

Previously, Paoletti offered a full series of models, but now these are only available in the Signature Series in order to “lower the production of those so we can keep the quality high”, Paoletti’s Filippo Martini tells us. The Lounge Series instruments are semisolid and our 112 is from the Loft Series, which aims to “replicate the chipped paint jobs of well-worn rock ’n’ roll guitars”.

Paoletti’s main models are the Stratospheric, Nancy (T-style), JR (single-cut) and offset 112 we have on review. Other models in the range include the 128, which is inspired by the Gibson Explorer and only appears in the Loft Series; likewise, the 131, which is more SG-like with offset horns. The large hollowbody single-cut 500 features only in the Lounge Series. Most models are offered with a choice of pickup configurations.

The Signature Series features artist-created models from these base designs such as the new Dave Kilminster models, which are based on the Nancy but with three single coils and vibrato, and a trio of special finishes. Richard Fortus has three signatures, two with leather fronts and the #3 more in Loft Series style. Bring Me The Horizon’s Lee Malia has a trio of builds, too, while Ritchie Sambora’s Wine Series HSS Stratospheric was another guitar that helped to put Paoletti on the map.
