14yo vines, hand-picked and sorted, crushed and destemmed, open-fer­mented, 14 days on skins, ma­tured in 75% new Amer­i­can bar­riques and 25% used French oak for 30 months. The vin­tage and the fruit are the prime movers here, the medium to full-bod­ied palate with an abun­dance of dark fruits rang­ing from plum to black­berry and a sweet­ness ex the vanillin oak. No hint of any green fruits. The over­all length and bal­ance are very good. 14% alc.

This re­serve shi­raz has been made in the vine­yard; bunch se­lected at ve­rai­son, har­vested by hand at peak flavour, min­i­mal wine­mak­ing han­dling, and then aged in our best oak for two years. It’s a prime ex­am­ple of what this vine­yard site can achieve.
