What do you love most about your region? RIESLING! Clare Valley fruit allows us to produce intense, ageworthy wines due to its continental climate with hot summers, cold winters, high altitude and low rainfall. Our fruit is picked from 15- to 50-year-old vines that are sourced from a selection of vineyards from the Watervale subregion, including the Ackland Vineyard. Our riesling grapes in particular offer tremendous freshness, delicacy and persistence that are generous in flavour. I am proud that Knappstein wines honestly reflect the true nature of Clare Valley vineyards.

What should we make time for at your cellar door this summer? Knappstein is open daily, so our guests are welcome to enjoy a range of tastings every day, including limited releases, museum backvintages and cellar door exclusives.

The cellar door is in the original 19th-century Enterprise Brewery, which is recognised as a National Trust building and significant landmark in the Clare township. A visit here offers an interesting historic and educational experience – a must see for all visitors to the region.
