2016 Yarra Yering Dry White No. 1

78% semillon, 22% chardonnay. I’m not sure how a semillon chardonnay blend should/ could be Bordeaux-inspired – I think Australia led the way internationally in ’70 or before. It’s an attractive wine, allowing its two components proportional space to make their statements – leaving the breezy, citrusy, faintly saline flavours in first place. 13% alc.
