Nelson might not be the first, second or even third region that springs to mind when thinking of NZ pinot noir, yet this has fantastic composure and real complexity with a lifted fragrance of strawberries on the vine, cloves and a faint hint of log-fire smokiness. Its ripe tannins provide excellent framework for the fleshingout of its juicy plum palate. Or, hold on to it for another few years.
