What is value when it comes to wine? And what makes a wine good value?

For some, it’s about those elusive releases that punch well above their price. For others, it’s all about the enjoyment a wine brings, regardless of its cost. As we discover in this issue, like almost everything else in the world of wine, value is a very subjective thing.

Inside, wine writer Katie Spain asks various producers how they define value, and Jane Faulkner suggests some wines that offer a taste of the greats for less – consider it a cheat’s guide to the icons.
