2019 Pepper Tree Wines Tallawanta Single Heritage Vineyard Shiraz, Hunter Valley

I like the shift this vintage from reductive, more glossy styles of the recent past, to the mid-weighted digestive expressions that are inimitably Hunter. One of the region’s oldest sites. Damson plum, blueberry, sassafras, Asian spice and the signature terracotta/loam/ petrichor notes of the Hunter. A little less acidity would be nice, but a fine wine all the same.
