2016 Patrick of Coonawarra Home Block Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra

As a 6yo wine there is a lot going on here: aged fruit, (domineering) resinous oak and fierce, toasty concentration of flavour. This is savoury to the end of days, with salted licorice, black pepper, blackberry compote, poached rhubarb and black tea, too. Despite the moderate alcohol, this drinks like a big wine, with extraordinary intensity. Sporting a new (and improved) label, this is very good, and stylistically very confident. EL 13.8% alc.
