99 Although this is essentially a sibling of Ornellaia’s, Masseto operates as a brand in isolation. Purely merlot, from vines on the Masseto hillside, it’s astonishingly complex and proves to any merlot naysayer of this grape’s ability to channel serious complexity. Deep red fruit core with layers of chocolate, allspice and tobacco. It is unique, classy and sublime in equal measure.
