MOUNT PLEASANT’S NEW CELLAR DOOR

Hunter Valley winery Mount Pleasant has renovated its cellar door, completely refurbing and expanding the tasting area, adding a private members’ tasting room and lounge, and a bottle shop stocked with the winery’s oldest and most significan­t wines. Featuring artwork by renowned artist Garry Shead and a share plate menu by head chef Kyle Whitbourne in collaborat­ion with former Becasse and Hotel Centennial chef Justin North, it’s an incredible addition to the region.

★ Chambers Rosewood Vineyards has released its 2021 Touriga. It’s pale red in colour, with raspberry spice, dark cherry and soft tannins. RRP $20.

★ McWilliam’s Wines has added a special selection of Australian fortifieds to its Hanwood Estate range. The range commenced with a Classic (5-Year), and Grand (10-Year) Aged Tawny in June and will follow with a Rare (20-Year) and Very Rare (30-Year) Aged Tawny later in the year.
