2019 Bannockburn Vineyards Serré, Geelong

Serré is French for ‘tightly packed’ and refers to the close-planted block of pinot noir, planted in 1984 and certified organic. A mix of whole bunches, destemmed fruit and extended maceration, all wild-yeast fermented. Matured 12 months in French hogsheads. Love the delicacy on display here, the slow creep of florals, red berries, leaf, sage and spice that work their way deep into the senses.

And so smooth. Textbook tannin integration and a long, floating finish caps off this most complete wine. JP 12.9% alc.
