2021 Stonier Wines W-WB Pinot Noir, Mornington Peninsula
Fruit off the lower-trained vines on the eastern side of the Windmill vineyard is destined for this wine – in the right vintage: 100% whole bunches, 4 weeks on skins, pressed to 2 French oak puncheons, one new, the other aged 9 months. Smoky, twiggy, bitter herbs, rhubarb liqueur and all the complexity that comes from whole bunches are complementary to the dark cherries, spice and woodsy flavours. A structured palate with textural, furry tannins and a fragrant lift throughout. JF 13.8% alc.
