THE LIBRARY, nestled against busy Chaweng beach, one of Koh Samui, Thailand’s most famous stretches of sand, is a honeymooners’ delight. Inspired by timeless tomes, it embodies a simple lifestyle philosophy important to its local owner.there is an actual library, next to the resort’s signature red pool. So grab a good book, sit back and relax.

The resort’s seamless design is in harmony with the natural landscape: carefully preserved ancient trees, white sand and crystal blue water. Its minimalist interiors and black, white and red palette are accented with figurative sculptures dotted around the grounds, enjoying a book. There are 26 spacious studios and suites, plus the Secret Chapters: 20 villas with private pools, the final two of which — the expansive, adults-only The Editor and The Writer — open this month. After entering through a secret door, you are welcomed by meandering walkways and high slate walls that disguise your own secret door to your mysterious private hideaway.each Secret Poolvilla wraps around its own emerald-hued saltwater pool; the interior features furniture by the resort’s designer, tirawan Songsawat; and the bedroom has a triple-king bed. The villas are made even more appealing by their private grounds — featuring a 31-metre lap pool — accessible only to Secret Chapters guests.the serenity is endless.

From a sunrise ‘breakfast in bed’ on a mattress on the beach to lunch on the bustling street at the hotel’s front door, to dinner on the water’s edge, the abundance of delicious culinary choices will leave you wanting to book another week so you can discover it all.

Cooking classes with chef Eric Adnan teach traditional Thai dishes, or, for something more romantic, a private sunset catamaran cruise guides you to some of Koh Samui’s untouched beaches to enjoy paddleboarding and a glass of wine against a fairytale sunset.the storybook world The Library delivers is a world away from Koh Samui’s tourist hotspot beyond the front gates.

From top: an Exotic Suite at The Library; a two-bedroom Secret Pool Villa; the resort’s signature red pool.
