Manners still matter for a modern belle in America’s south.“growing up in Alabama taught me a lot about manners and family,” the model says. “I learnt to have good values and enjoy what I have and the opportunities I’ve been given.” Good manners have served the 21-year-old well during her career walking for the likes of Chanel, Miu Miu and Balmain, posing forvictoria’s Secret and, recently, shooting for BAZAAR in Croatia (“Go with the Flow”, page 88), where she chatted happily with the crew between shots, waxing lyrical about her grandmother’s fried chicken.“it is hands down the best thing ever,” she insists. Shooting in Croatia involved an early start:“we got up at 3.30am and shot for about five hours, and then at lunchtime it rained for three hours.the rain was really crazy, and the wind was so intense that we ended up going back to the hotel because we were afraid of getting hurt. But other than that, Croatia was extremely beautiful. I would definitely go back.” My pre-shoot workout regimen is ... “I’ll work out once a day, but if I’m in training [for a shoot] I’ll work out two to three times a day, then add in a recovery session before and after. Every couple of nights I do an infrared sauna, and when I’m travelling I always bring bands so I can do band work in the hotel room.” I love modelling because …

“it gave me something to move out of Alabama for, and a chance to recreate myself in a different place. I get to grow in the way I meet new people and learn about different cultures.”
