No short­age of hol­i­day fun

STU­DENTS in the re­gion will not have time to hi­ber­nate these win­ter hol­i­days, with a range of hol­i­day care and free ac­tiv­i­ties on of­fer across the shire.

The Har­vey Re­cre­ation and Cul­tural Cen­tre will once again of­fer its school hol­i­day pro­gram over the break de­signed to make the best of the wet weather.

Ac­tiv­i­ties will in­clude pizza-mak­ing lessons at An­chovies Pizza, a trip to Grand Cin­e­mas in Bun­bury, in­door sports, yoga lessons, a Filipino Fun day, and NAIDOC Week ac­tiv­i­ties.

The Leschenault Leisure Cen­tre also has a school hol­i­day pro­gram, which will in­clude air hockey, movies, swim­ming, foose­ball, cook­ing classes, in­door sports and arts and crafts.

Chil­dren can also have an egg-crack­ing good time at Har­vey Li­brary when baby chick­ens start hatch­ing un­der a spe­cial in­cu­ba­tor, which will ar­rive at the li­brary on Mon­day.

For fu­ture mas­ter chefs, Australind Li­brary will host a cup­cake dec­o­rat­ing class for chil­dren six years and older on July 5 at 10am.

Book­ings are es­sen­tial by call­ing the li­brary on 9797 4590.

The li­brary will also host a show of mag­i­cal fun when Hey Presto per­forms on July 11 at 10am.

The ma­gi­cian will also per­form a show at Har­vey Li­brary the same day at 1.30pm.

Yar­loop Li­brary will be hold­ing Lego fun days through­out the hol­i­days on Tues­days from 11am-2pm and Thurs­days from 9am-12noon, with chil­dren asked to put their creativity on show in a Lego com­pe­ti­tion.
