No shortage of holiday fun
STUDENTS in the region will not have time to hibernate these winter holidays, with a range of holiday care and free activities on offer across the shire.
The Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre will once again offer its school holiday program over the break designed to make the best of the wet weather.
Activities will include pizza-making lessons at Anchovies Pizza, a trip to Grand Cinemas in Bunbury, indoor sports, yoga lessons, a Filipino Fun day, and NAIDOC Week activities.
The Leschenault Leisure Centre also has a school holiday program, which will include air hockey, movies, swimming, fooseball, cooking classes, indoor sports and arts and crafts.
Children can also have an egg-cracking good time at Harvey Library when baby chickens start hatching under a special incubator, which will arrive at the library on Monday.
For future master chefs, Australind Library will host a cupcake decorating class for children six years and older on July 5 at 10am.
Bookings are essential by calling the library on 9797 4590.
The library will also host a show of magical fun when Hey Presto performs on July 11 at 10am.
The magician will also perform a show at Harvey Library the same day at 1.30pm.
Yarloop Library will be holding Lego fun days throughout the holidays on Tuesdays from 11am-2pm and Thursdays from 9am-12noon, with children asked to put their creativity on show in a Lego competition.
