Mush­room, weapons charges

A 32-year-old Har­vey man and a 24-year-old Bun­bury man are fac­ing charges fol­low­ing a traf­fic stop on For­rest High­way and the al­leged dis­cov­ery of pro­hib­ited weapons and psilo­cy­bin mush­rooms.

Wa­roona po­lice per­formed a rou­tine traf­fic stop on a ve­hi­cle at a rest area near Bagieau Road on the high­way about 7pm on June 14.

Of­fi­cers con­ducted a search of the ve­hi­cle dur­ing which they al­legedly found a laser pointer, a sling­shot with metal ball-bear­ings, a flick knife, as well as 460g of psilo­cy­bin mush­rooms.

The Har­vey man was charged with pos­ses­sion of an il­licit sub­stance and the Bun­bury man was charged with two counts of pos­ses­sion of a pro­hib­ited weapon and one count of pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled weapon.

They will both ap­pear in Har­vey Mag­is­trates Court next month.
