Mushroom, weapons charges
A 32-year-old Harvey man and a 24-year-old Bunbury man are facing charges following a traffic stop on Forrest Highway and the alleged discovery of prohibited weapons and psilocybin mushrooms.
Waroona police performed a routine traffic stop on a vehicle at a rest area near Bagieau Road on the highway about 7pm on June 14.
Officers conducted a search of the vehicle during which they allegedly found a laser pointer, a slingshot with metal ball-bearings, a flick knife, as well as 460g of psilocybin mushrooms.
The Harvey man was charged with possession of an illicit substance and the Bunbury man was charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon and one count of possession of a controlled weapon.
They will both appear in Harvey Magistrates Court next month.
