Undermanned Hawks fall

AN understrength Harvey Hawks suffered its second defeat with a 2-0 loss to Bunbury Dynamos on Sunday.

Missing three players to injury or illness, the Hawks struggled to get a foot hold in the game at Meridan Park, with few goal-scoring opportunities for either teams.

Dynamos broke the deadlock midway through the first half with a well taken goal from a narrow angle.

This was the only real highlight of the half as both teams cancelled each other out in a tight affair.

The second half started with Harvey pushing for the equaliser and they dominated play for a 20minute period but could not convert the pressure into a goal.

Midfielders Cody Ward, Michael Robinson and Josh Adornetto battled tirelessly in an attempt to bring Harvey level, but it was Dynamos who snatched a second goal.

This put the game beyond the reach of the Harvey side as they ran out of steam towards the end of the game.

Credit should be given to stand in goal-keeper Mick Trickett for his efforts and Jon Adams for his leadership on the field.

Overall Dynamos deserved the victory in a game played in great spirits by two closely-matched sides.
