Demons suf­fer big loss

WA­ROONA Demons suf­fered an­other tough loss for the sea­son against Rock­ing­ham on Sun­day, who took the match by a mar­gin of more than 130 points.

Rock­ing­ham dom­i­nated from the start kick­ing 10 goals in the first quar­ter to none from Wa­roona, hold­ing their strong po­si­tion to win 25.10 (160) to Wa­roona 5.3 (33).

The Demons were on the board in the sec­ond quar­ter with a goal but could not over­come Rock­ing­ham who kicked an­other six goals.

After half-time, Rock­ing­ham kicked an­other four goals while the Demons con­tin­ued to fight re­ply­ing with a goal of their own.

The Demons were un­de­terred and came out fight­ing in the fi­nal quar­ter of the match kick­ing three goals to Rock­ing­ham’s five.

After the break for the Land­mark Foot­ball Cham­pi­onship, Wa­roona face off against Halls Head at 2.30pm on Sun­day, July 22, at Hot Klobba Sta­dium.

Wa­roona sit just off the bot­tom of the lad­der ahead of Man­durah, hav­ing recorded two wins this sea­son.

In the re­serves, Rock­ing­ham 25.15 (165) de­feated Wa­roona 0.1 (1).

In the colts, Rock­ing­ham 27.17 (179) de­feated Wa­roona 2.1 (13).
