Smart farm grants open

South West land­hold­ers and com­mu­nity groups are be­ing called upon to ap­ply for round 2 of the Smart Farms Small Grants.

For­rest MHR Marino said Land­care groups, NRM bod­ies, in­dige­nous or­gan­i­sa­tions and com­mu­nity groups in the South West could ap­ply for grants of be­tween $5000 and $200,000.

“The Coali­tion Gov­ern­ment is sup­port­ing farm­ers and com­mu­nity groups to make a dif­fer­ence,” Mrs Marino said.

“This is a chance for lo­cals to re­ceive fund­ing and build on the work they’ve al­ready started.

“I know there is a lot of work be­ing done lo­cally to sup­port smart farm­ing prac­tices and to pro­tect and im­prove nat­u­ral re­sources.”
