YARLOOP COMMUNITY CENTRE BUILDING WORKS UPDATE
Works on the new Yarloop Community Centre are progressing well with the pouring of the slab creating quite a bit of excitement in the town last week. A small crowd of people turned out at 6.30am on Saturday, 10th November to witness this momentous event. Brickwork will commence on the retaining wall for the alfresco area next week, then the structural steel and timber wall frames will begin to appear and the shell of the building will start to take form. Meanwhile the façade of the old hall stands like a sentinel watching over the site. Artefacts including old horse shoes have also been unearthed during the earthworks process. This relates to usage of the site from many years ago when a Blacksmith shop operated on the site of the hall.
