$250,000 student boost

Students at Australind Senior High School will receive additional support for a mentorship program thanks to a $250,000 partnership between EdConnect Australia and the Alcoa Foundation.

Alcoa, which first partnered with EdConnect’s Connecting Generations for School Success program in 2016, has agreed to continue supporting the programs in the Peel and Harvey shires.

The programs aim to match volunteers with up to 800 students at risk of not achieving their educational potential in at least 15 schools each year.

Alcoa of Australia chairman and managing director Michael Parker said the company was proud to support a program that had strong cross-generational benefits.
