Cen­tres com­bine for lunch

Clients from South West Com­mu­nity Care’s three cen­tres gath­ered at Eden Grove in Har­vey on Wed­nes­day for a com­bined Christ­mas party.

More than 85 peo­ple from the Eaton, Aus­tralind and Har­vey cen­tres had a buf­fet lunch.

Af­ter­wards guests en­joyed per­for­mances by the Hand­bells in Peel as well as the Bianca Panetta Academy of Dance.

Ac­tiv­i­ties co­or­di­na­tor San­dra Zap­pia said the event was a huge suc­cess, but was bit­ter­sweet for her.

“It’s good­bye for me as well to­day,” Mrs Zap­pia said.

She will be re­lo­cat­ing to Perth with her fam­ily, but said she was happy to celebrate Christ­mas with the cen­tre staff and clients she has grown close to in her time with the or­gan­i­sa­tion.

“They’re like a big ex­tended fam­ily,” she said.

Har­vey Men’s Shed mem­bers Al­lan Ford, Lance Pow­ell, Cec McVee and Ian Jack­son share a laugh about Mr Ford's re­sem­blance to Santa Clause.
