Centres combine for lunch
Clients from South West Community Care’s three centres gathered at Eden Grove in Harvey on Wednesday for a combined Christmas party.
More than 85 people from the Eaton, Australind and Harvey centres had a buffet lunch.
Afterwards guests enjoyed performances by the Handbells in Peel as well as the Bianca Panetta Academy of Dance.
Activities coordinator Sandra Zappia said the event was a huge success, but was bittersweet for her.
“It’s goodbye for me as well today,” Mrs Zappia said.
She will be relocating to Perth with her family, but said she was happy to celebrate Christmas with the centre staff and clients she has grown close to in her time with the organisation.
“They’re like a big extended family,” she said.
Harvey Men’s Shed members Allan Ford, Lance Powell, Cec McVee and Ian Jackson share a laugh about Mr Ford's resemblance to Santa Clause.
