Plenty to do in the region
There is plenty to do this holiday season in Harvey and Waroona with carols, dam swim events and everything in between.
On December 21, Waroona Youth Leadership Development will host a night with free dinner and activities, including DJ workshops, giant games and a party. Celebrations kick off from 5pm to 9pm at the Waroona Recreation and Aquatic Centre.
On December 23 Preston Beach Progress Association will host Christmas carols on the lawn at the Preston Beach Fire Shed from 6.30pm onwards.
On the same day the Just Cruizin’ Christmas Light Cruise will take residents on a tour of the Waroona and Hamel Christmas lights from 7pm.
Also on the 23rd is Carols in the Complex kicking off at 7pm in the Alan Evans Selling Complex at the Brunswick Showgrounds.
Finally, the Harvey Community Dinner (lunch) is on from 12pm to 2pm at Kinsella Hall on Hester Street in Harvey.
From January 4 to 8 is the 50th Harvey Art Prize at the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre. Doors open from 10am to 4pm each day with a gold coin entry.
On January 5 is Round 7 of the WA Open Water Swimming Series at the Harvey Dam, part of the largest open water swimming series in Australia. To register go to www.openwatersswimming.com.au.
