Plenty to do in the re­gion

There is plenty to do this hol­i­day sea­son in Har­vey and Wa­roona with carols, dam swim events and ev­ery­thing in be­tween.

On De­cem­ber 21, Wa­roona Youth Lead­er­ship De­vel­op­ment will host a night with free din­ner and ac­tiv­i­ties, in­clud­ing DJ work­shops, gi­ant games and a party. Cel­e­bra­tions kick off from 5pm to 9pm at the Wa­roona Re­cre­ation and Aquatic Cen­tre.

On De­cem­ber 23 Pre­ston Beach Progress As­so­ci­a­tion will host Christ­mas carols on the lawn at the Pre­ston Beach Fire Shed from 6.30pm on­wards.

On the same day the Just Cruizin’ Christ­mas Light Cruise will take res­i­dents on a tour of the Wa­roona and Hamel Christ­mas lights from 7pm.

Also on the 23rd is Carols in the Com­plex kick­ing off at 7pm in the Alan Evans Sell­ing Com­plex at the Brunswick Show­grounds.

Fi­nally, the Har­vey Com­mu­nity Din­ner (lunch) is on from 12pm to 2pm at Kin­sella Hall on Hester Street in Har­vey.

From Jan­uary 4 to 8 is the 50th Har­vey Art Prize at the Har­vey Re­cre­ation and Cultural Cen­tre. Doors open from 10am to 4pm each day with a gold coin en­try.

On Jan­uary 5 is Round 7 of the WA Open Wa­ter Swim­ming Se­ries at the Har­vey Dam, part of the largest open wa­ter swim­ming se­ries in Aus­tralia. To reg­is­ter go to­wa­terss­wim­
