Po­lice praise be­hav­iour

Har­vey po­lice had a rel­a­tively has­sle-free hol­i­day pe­riod and praised the be­hav­iour of the com­mu­nity but of course there were some in­ci­dents.

On Jan­u­ary 4, a 34-year-old Har­vey woman was charged with 16 drug counts af­ter po­lice searched her ve­hi­cle and her house.

The woman was charged with of­fer­ing to sell a pro­hib­ited drug, pos­ses­sion of a pro­hib­ited plant and drug para­pher­na­lia.

On Jan­u­ary 3, po­lice al­legedly found cannabis in the ve­hi­cle of a 27-year-old Wa­roona man dur­ing a rou­tine stop.

On New Year’s Eve, a 24-yearold Wa­roona man was charged with driv­ing in ex­cess of .08 on Morn­ing­ton Road, Har­vey, and on De­cem­ber 27 a 38-year-old Ore­lia man was hit with the same charge on For­rest High­way, Pre­ston Beach.

Har­vey Po­lice stopped 1058 ve­hi­cles over the dou­ble de­merit pe­riod re­sult­ing in five charges of no au­thor­ity to drive, three charges of driv­ing in ex­cess of .08, one charge of driv­ing un­der the in­flu­ence and 35 speed­ing in­fringe­ments.

Har­vey Po­lice of­fi­cer-in­charge Sgt Scott Gil­lis said over­all peo­ple were well be­haved and of­fi­cers had few is­sues over the Christ­mas and New Year Pe­riod.
