Police praise behaviour
Harvey police had a relatively hassle-free holiday period and praised the behaviour of the community but of course there were some incidents.
On January 4, a 34-year-old Harvey woman was charged with 16 drug counts after police searched her vehicle and her house.
The woman was charged with offering to sell a prohibited drug, possession of a prohibited plant and drug paraphernalia.
On January 3, police allegedly found cannabis in the vehicle of a 27-year-old Waroona man during a routine stop.
On New Year’s Eve, a 24-yearold Waroona man was charged with driving in excess of .08 on Mornington Road, Harvey, and on December 27 a 38-year-old Orelia man was hit with the same charge on Forrest Highway, Preston Beach.
Harvey Police stopped 1058 vehicles over the double demerit period resulting in five charges of no authority to drive, three charges of driving in excess of .08, one charge of driving under the influence and 35 speeding infringements.
Harvey Police officer-incharge Sgt Scott Gillis said overall people were well behaved and officers had few issues over the Christmas and New Year Period.
