Here’s a sweeter deal
We need to avoid getting caught up in the sugar spin around breakfast cereals. New ABS data shows they contribute just 3 per cent of added sugars in Australian diets, and the benefits of eating breakfast cereals – better nutrition and healthier weight – are consistent regardless of the sugar content of the breakfast cereal. This is the first time we have had Australian data comparing types of breakfast cereals, and it clearly shows focusing on sugars is misplaced.
