Let’s talk about crav­ings for a minute. We all have them! Whether it’s for choco­late, chips or stodgy carbs, crav­ings can strike at any time. For me, they usu­ally hit af­ter lunch. It’s al­most as if my taste buds need to fin­ish a meal with some­thing sweet, when in fact, a cup of tea will usu­ally suf­fice!

This month I spoke to lead­ing di­eti­tian Lyndi Co­hen for our How I Stay Healthy col­umn (p18). Her re­mark­able story of how she lost 20kg and over­came binge eat­ing is truly in­spir­ing. Like me, she has a sweet tooth, and it’s re­fresh­ing to hear her strate­gies on how she deals with crav­ings. It’s a great read!

Mean­time, on page 22 we look at the sci­ence be­hind low-carb di­ets. You might be sur­prised to hear that bread and grains don’t have to come off the menu, and there is a sen­si­ble ap­proach. You will find our di­eti­tian-ap­proved seven-day menu on page 90.

Fi­nally, let’s talk recipes! Our cre­ative team have been busy this month com­ing up with tasty and nu­tri­tion­ally bal­anced meals that are ready in a flash. You will love the fast and fresh meals for one and two (p66), as well as our de­li­cious stuffed vegie din­ners (p58). Plus, Mother’s Day is just around the cor­ner, so give our Berry sponge cake (p76) a try!
