Hepburn

Letter from the Editor

- Jacqueline Hodges

Hello and welcome to the Courageous Edition of Hepburn.

Sometimes in life we just have to keep going, we have make a move, we have to make a difference. And it’s only when we have made that move that we can find the impetus create and change. It may take courage to continue, to fight against mediocrity, but it is always worthwhile.

This month our Hepburn in Conversation series guest and featured woman is the amazing Ruby Schmidt. She stands as a role model for women who seek to change careers, who dare to create change, who dare to provoke thought, who challenge the audience and society, and who seek to separate themselves from family career trajectories to learn that is where they truly belong.

As always our team brings you exciting articles to read. We explore Are You a Super Taskers, Project Confidence through Your Body Language, How to Agree When You Disagree, and we share Jewellery Trends with guest contributor Spring Leahy founder of Magpiette. And with finance in mind we have Preparing for Your Retirement.

Our Business Book Review section features I Choose Myself, by Reality Television Start Deepti Vempati. We also invite you to Escape to the Ningaloo, encourage you to try Tai Chi, and inspire you to find an activity with our seven options in Diving Deep into a Watery Wonderland.

With the theme of courage in mind, we feature women who have inspired us in many ways and hope they will inspire you too! We feature in our Influential Women in Leadership Ms Sami Bahous, our Amazing Australian Women is Dr Trudy

Lin, and our Aspiring Australian Women is Dr Tahnee Bridson. And We Honour the Memory of pioneering filmmaker Lottie Lyell.

Each of these women are amazing in their own right and our stories provide a small glimpse into their triumphs, their courage, and how their actions forged a pathway for others to follow. We will be sharing these stories on our YouTube and podcast channels shortly.

Like any journey, Hepburn is not a solo adventure. It is only achieved through the efforts of an amazing team and our contributors. I personally wish to thank each member for their contribution to make each issue better than the last. And send a special thank you to our contributors and journalists.

So, as another month begins, I welcome you and invite you to read the Courageous Edition of Hepburn.
