FRIENDS IN HIGG PLACES MISSY’S GUESTS
“He doesn’t do duets very often and he’s a very formidable figure. It was hard to find a song we could do together. To his credit he went through my whole catalogue and chose one. I’m hoping he’ll do some of his crazy dancing. Pete is much more subdued when he’s solo, I’m prepared for both — getting my eye poked out or him being (calm). It’s gonna be fascinating to see what sort of chemistry we have on stage.”
“I listened to Kasey Chambers’ The Captain when I was in high school and she was a huge influence. I’ve picked one of my more country numbers. I have an Aussie twang, she has a more American twang, I think our twangs will complement each other.”
“Dan Sultan actually sang a Slim Dusty number with me once and I covered Old Fitzroy.
I think he’s really incredible and his latest album, Killer, is fantastic.”
“She‘s amazing. She’s gonna go far that girl. She’s an incredible songwriter. A producer sent me a couple of her demos and said ‘Check this girl out’ and I forwarded them on to my manager. I love Drive and, yeah, her newer one Radio Silence. We’re gonna do a really big number together.”
“Ben Abraham is a good friend of mine and he has one of the best voices in the country. He’s got quite famous for writing some of Kesha’s hits. He’s an incredible songwriter. We recorded a new song that’s going on my best-of album called Run So Fast. It’s a real slow, picky, acoustic number.”
