To the end of last year, the big Honda sedan has sold more than 5000 ex­am­ples. The best year was 2014, with 1760 sold.

The used list­ings are dom­i­nated by the V6L ver­sion and just 1.5 per cent of the ve­hi­cles are hy­brids. One in three cars is grey.

The base VTi from 2013 ($31,490 new) is worth $15,350 and the V6L flag­ship ($51,990 new) is still val­ued at $25,250.

From 2017, the then base VTi-L ($43,990 new) is now $34,150 and the V6L ($52,590 new) is worth $40,650.

Against medium sedan ri­vals from 2013, the Ac­cord level-pegs the Mazda6 for re­sale but holds its value bet­ter than the Toy­ota Camry, Subaru Lib­erty and Volkswagen Pas­sat.

Re­flect­ing both its age­ing de­sign and the at­trac­tion of newer ri­vals, the 2017 Ac­cord is now a back marker to Camry,
