Fast road to sales milestone

DEVELOPER Mirvac has notched up a century at its Jack Rd housing development in Cheltenham.

Beaumaris dad Michael Hayden, wife Sally and their children are the estate’s 100th buyers, recently purchasing a four-bedroom family home known as The Anderson.

Mr Hayden said the development’s location and the home’s design were major selling points for his family.

“You’ve got all the amenity that suburbs like Beaumaris have to offer at your doorstep,” he said.

“I was always happy with the location and we just wanted something that was lowmaintenance and that could be built without too much fuss because I didn’t want to devote the time and attention to designing a place myself.

“Mirvac’s got a good name and the design of the house just really suits us.”

The couple and three of their four children — aged 11, 14 and 22 — hope to move into their new home by Christmas.

Their home will be one of 183 in the 4.2ha masterplanned estate when completed next year, with a mix of freestanding houses, townhouses and lowrise apartments.

Mirvac head of residential John Carfi said Jack Rd’s diverse housing options were meeting strong demand for new homes in the established area.

“Prior to Jack Rd, just 750 homes were being added to the Cheltenham market each year, while demand was predicted at 1100 homes annually,” he said.

“Buyers are recognising Jack Rd offers a rare opportunity to buy a new home in this established and well-regarded area.”

Mr Carfi said young families placed increasing importance on community-focused amenities that encouraged their children to play and explore in local parks and playgrounds.

“To keep up with these buyer requests, Mirvac will soon commence construction on a $500,000 new central community park named Jack’s Park, which is planned for delivery early next year,” he said.

Construction of the $130 million development started in March last year.

It features a range of two and three-bedroom townhouses, three and four-bedroom family homes, and two-bedroom lowrise apartments.

Townhouses are priced from $735,000, family homes are priced from $830,000 and apartments are from $555,000.
