Sacked cop court saga
VICTORIA Police has taken its battle to sack a member involved in the notorious Sunshine stubby-holder saga all the way to the Supreme Court.
The force sacked Sergeant Calum McCann over the affair but he was reinstated by the Police Appeals Board, which said he should be disciplined.
Sgt McCann was the inaugural president of the Sunshine police social club.
He helped organise the design and delivery of the holders, which featured a picture of a “mudfish” — a derogatory term for the area’s African community.
