ARCHIE REAL STARRY-EYED

-

MELBOURNE Victory star Archie Thompson counts watching Real Madrid live as one of his career highlights.

Thompson has been at AAMI Park this week as the Spanish giants prepared for the International Champions Cup starting tomorrow.

“There was a bit more security there to what we’re used to,’’ Thompson said.

“I hardly get starstruck but when they went through their paces I went a bit weak at the knees. If you want to see a 36-year-old blush, then that was it.

“For me it’s amazing, can only imagine how kids must be feeling.”

Thompson will be part of Nine’s broadcast team for the matches, featuring AS Roma and Manchester City, along with Clint Stanaway, Brenton Speed, Michael Bridges and Sam Squiers.
