Blurred appeal
POP stars Pharrell Williams, Robin Thicke and rapper T.I. will appeal a verdict and ruling that found they improperly copied Marvin Gaye’s music for their hit Blurred Lines.
Lawyer Howard King said he will appeal a judge’s ruling upholding a jury’s copyright infringement verdict.
US District Judge John Kronstadt trimmed the nearly $7.4 million verdict to $5.3 million but also ruled that Gaye’s family should receive future royalties from Blurred Lines.
Mr King wrote that the trio did not use Gaye’s music to create the song.
