Aussie in drug ar­rest

AN Aus­tralian man has been ar­rested in Fiji af­ter he was al­legedly found with close to 50 ki­los of co­caine.

The man was ar­rested with a Fi­jian na­tional, af­ter Fiji po­lice searched a ve­hi­cle the pair were trav­el­ling in and al­legedly found $10 mil­lion worth of the drug. The Aus­tralian Fed­eral Po­lice says it is aware of the ar­rests and it is a mat­ter for Fiji po­lice.

The ar­rests were made fol­low­ing weeks of in­tel­li­gence gath­er­ing in co-op­er­a­tion with the AFP. Po­lice closed in on the sus­pects at a ma­rina in Lau­toka.
