CATTLE CUTS WON’T HURT
BEEF producer Australian Agricultural Company is not expecting Indonesia’s huge slash in the number of live cattle imports to greatly affect its profits.
Indonesia has reduced the quota of live cattle imports to 50,000 this quarter, down from 250,000 a year ago. AACo managing director Jason Strong says the company’s main business is boxed meat to South Korea, Japan and other countries. “A decision like this will have much less impact on us now than it would have,” he said.
