Sea Eagle’s star well backed
ZEE Dana has been strongly supported as he bids to maintain his unbeaten record in tonight’s Tatlow Stakes for juvenile colts and geldings at Melton.
Part owned by Manly fullback Brett Stewart, Zee Dana won by 28m on debut last month.
He has since won well at Shepparton and impressed punters enough for them to back him in from $2.60 to $2.10 from his polemarking draw.
“He is a high-profile horse and the media might put the pressure on, but we don’t let that worry us, we just let the horse do the talking,” cotrainer and driver Nathan Jack said.
“I actually find it (the interest) great because if you knew the horse, he’s got a bit of a personality himself, he’s a very friendly horse and he’s got a lot of character.
“We just love him at home and our job is really just to keep him succeeding, which we’ll try and do this weekend at Tabcorp Park.”
Among Zee Dana’s major rivals are Code Black ($2.20 to $2.50), Born To Rocknroll ($9 to $10) and Christmas Jolt ($8.50 to $8).
