Ex-AFL upstart kicked off Lord’s
JUST four days after being pulled out of the English Channel, maverick former AFL player Campbell Brown has been kicked off the centre wicket at Lord’s.
Brown made it out to the middle for the toss — won by Australia’s Michael Clarke — on the first morning of the second Ashes Test and posted a selfie.
“Decks in great conditions (sic),” he tweeted. “Good toss to win.” The ex-Hawthorn and Gold Coast player gained access after borrowing someone else’s accreditation but was quickly marched off the surface.
Brown is in the UK after attempting to cross the English Channel, in a venture where through his preparation alone he raised more than $100,000 for disadvantaged Australian children, to be distributed through the Shane Warne Foundation.
Extreme weather conditions forced Brown to abandon his mission 9hr 25min into the 32km swim — an unfortunate end after he had devoted the past 18 months to an intense training regimen.
