IT’s been a year since the AFL sex scandal blew up, turning league headquarters into an ethics crusader and costing people their jobs.

So what came of all the moral high-grounding?

Page 13 understands one of the women involved has quietly taken up a new role away from AFL House. She told Page 13 this week she didn’t want to revisit the saga.

But the two male employees axed by GILLON McLACHLAN for taking part in extra-curricular activities have found their feet.

Former AFL general manager RICHARD SIMKISS is now sitting pretty at ol’ mate CRAIG HUTCHISON’s Crocmedia empire, working as the group business director on $390,000 and also the chief operating officer of Ballpark Entertainment. Former football operations manager SIMON LETHLEAN, paid around $900,000 a year at the AFL, was overlooked for the job of Carlton CEO.

But he too now has a new role in footy as general manager of St Kilda, who McLachlan barracks for.

The whisper mill is in overdrive, that he is being groomed as CEO.
