Traitor spy honoured
RUSSIA has named a square after the Cambridge Spy Ring traitor Kim Philby.
Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin ordered an intersection in the southwest of the Russian capital — near the headquarters of its Foreign Intelligence Service — be renamed Kim Philby Square.
The British double agent defected to the Soviet Union in 1963 and died in 1988.
Britain’s biggest Cold War traitor, Philby was a senior MI6 officer who was exposed in the 1960s after passing information to Moscow for three decades.
