Traitor spy hon­oured

RUS­SIA has named a square af­ter the Cam­bridge Spy Ring traitor Kim Philby.

Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin or­dered an in­ter­sec­tion in the south­west of the Rus­sian cap­i­tal — near the head­quar­ters of its For­eign In­tel­li­gence Ser­vice — be re­named Kim Philby Square.

The Bri­tish dou­ble agent de­fected to the Soviet Union in 1963 and died in 1988.

Bri­tain’s big­gest Cold War traitor, Philby was a se­nior MI6 of­fi­cer who was ex­posed in the 1960s af­ter pass­ing in­for­ma­tion to Moscow for three decades.
